Bowling-Ball Sized Rocks Roll Across Road

From Staff

Four cars were damaged by a rock slide on Montana 93 between Missoula and Lolo.

Rocks the size of bowling balls tumbled over concrete barriers onto the highway at about 6 p.m. Friday, the Highway Patrol said.

Two vehicles had undercarriage damage, and two others had bent wheel rims.

One woman was treated for neck pain after her car’s air-bag deployed when her car struck some rocks, but no major injuries were reported.

Southbound traffic was detoured into one lane while Missoula County road crews cleared the debris and removed damaged cars.
