Carl R. “Mike” and Mary Frances Schroeder, Spokane, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Dec. 23 with a surprise reception and dinner at Cavanaughs Inn at the Park.

Hosts for the event were their children and spouses: Michele and Duane Dahm, Spokane; and Christof Schroeder and Douglas Marcotte, Los Angeles.

The Schroeders were married Dec. 23, 1948, in Lancaster, Kan. They have three grandchildren.
