Naacp Chapter To Install Officers

The Spokane chapter of the NAACP is inviting the public to its 1999 installation of officers.

The event begins tonight with a reception at 7:30 at Gonzaga University’s Jepson Center, 502 E. Boone.

Three officers will be sworn in after the reception: Eileen K. Thomas, president; Joyce Wright, secretary; and Marilyn DeCoster, treasurer.

Nine executive committee members will also take office: Chester Carothers; Florrie Brassier; Robert Lloyd; Ethel Jenkins; Karen Boone; Florence Everette; Irish Everette; Vonda Hall and Wayne Brokaw.

The local chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People defines itself as an agent to improve the political, educational, social and economic status of minority groups, and work toward eliminating racial prejudice.
