Flutist To Make Round Of Concerts

German flute virtuoso Michael Faust establishes a French connection with the Spokane Symphony at a trio of area concerts - Saturday in Coeur d’Alene and Sunday and Tuesday in Spokane.

Faust will perform Jacques Ibert’s Flute Concerto and Gabriel Faure’s Fantasie. The orchestra, led by associate conductor Elizabeth Stoyanovich, will play Ibert’s Divertissement and Maurice Ravel’s “Pavane for a Dead Princess.”

The Cologne-born Faust and the orchestra will present the program Saturday in Coeur d’Alene at Schuler Auditorium at North Idaho College and Sunday and Tuesday at The Met.

The concert Saturday begins at 8 p.m. and tickets are $19 and $16, available by calling (800) 4CDA-TIX.

The Spokane performances at The Met begin at 3 p.m. Sunday and 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Tickets range from $21 to $10 and are available at the Symphony ticket office in the Seafirst Building, 624-1200 and through G&B, 325-SEAT or (800) 325-SEAT.
