Lectures To Address Impact Of Drug Use
The impact of illegal drug use on Kootenai County will be the focus of a series of lectures later this month.
A drug task force supervisor, emergency room doctor and psychologist are among the featured speakers for the Jan. 27 event planned at the Coeur d’Alene Inn. The dinner begins at 6 p.m. and the lectures start 30 minutes later.
Coeur d’Alene police Sgt. Wendy Carpenter, the county’s drug task force supervisor, will discuss the task force mission. Roger Evans, Kootenai Medical Center emergency room director, will speak about the effects of drugs in the community.
Karolyn Roger of the Center for Human Development will discuss the psychological impacts of drugs. Kootenai County sheriff’s Capt. Ben Wolfinger will talk about the financial burden drugs place on taxpayers.
