Alpine skiing/snowboarding

Saturday, Red Mountain will present Cliff Dive, an event for skiers and boarders of all levels who are at least 19 years old. Participants will complete a timed run consisting of a free ski from the top of the Cliff and a GS course starting from Tower 10 down the Face of Red. Info: (509) 459-6000.

Lookout Pass and Silver Mountain will be open Monday for the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday. Normal rates apply.

49 Degrees North and KKZX are sponsoring a $5 offer for night skiing on Saturday and Sunday. Info: (509) 935-6649.

Nordic skiing

Also at 49 Degrees North this weekend will be the USSTA/Mountain Gear Telemark Race.

49 Degrees North will in addition hold a Mountain Gear Telemark Ski and Snowboard demo in conjunction with the Saturday races.

The most recently groomed trails in the Methow Valley area are the Beaver Pond and Sunnyside trails (groomed Tuesday night), as well as the Mazama and entire Rendez-Vous system (both groomed Monday).

Snowmobiling

Old Mission State Park in Shoshone County has newly groomed trails in the Placer Creek area to Wallace at Avery and in the St. Joe River region on the Humble Pass loop.
