You’Ll Laugh, You’Ll Cry At ‘Waking Ned Devine’

Though it has more in common with “The Englishman Who Went Up a Hill But Came Down a Mountain,” Kirk Jones’ “Waking Ned Devine” is this year’s “Full Monty.” Filled with humor, pathos, just enough dramatic suspense to keep us guessing, great cinematography and a colorful collection of Irish characterizations, “Waking Ned Devine” is feel-good cinema with a twist: It’s actually a good movie, too.
