Schweitzer Pass Holders Get Break At Other Slopes

Schweitzer Mountain Resort pass holders can now ski for half price at Mission Ridge or Stevens Pass ski areas.

The discount is the result of the Dec. 31 acquisition of Schweitzer by Harbor Resorts, which also owns the other two ski areas.

Great Escape card holders, who ski half price at Schweitzer, can use their Great Escape cards for a $5 discount at the other two resorts.

Pass holders also are eligible for a 10 percent discount on helicopter skiing and lodging packages with North Cascade Heli-skiing at the Freestone Inn in Mazama, Wash. The Freestone Inn is a luxury lodge near the Methow Valley’s extensive Nordic trail system.

But reaping the biggest benefit are Schweitzer Mountain employees, who can ski free at Stevens Pass or Mission Ridge. Employees at the other mountains, in turn, can ski free at Schweitzer.

“We talked about it Monday night, that’s when we talked as a group about the implications of the partnership,” said Bill Mullane, Schweitzer communications director. “The next day we had a bunch of people (employees) from Stevens Pass show up.”

Another perk for ski area managers is the free use of a cabin at the Freestone Inn.

Mission Ridge and Stevens Pass pass holders also get half price discounts at Schweitzer, and holders of the Harbor Advantage Card from those resorts get a $5 discount at Schweitzer.

All-day adult lift tickets at Stevens Pass Ski Area cost $37. All-day adult tickets at Mission Ridge are $33. Both areas offer discount prices for half-days and weekdays. Heli-skiing from the Freestone Inn runs $550 for one day.
