T-O Deals Tigercats First Loss In Whitman

Heather Cox and Janette Bruce combined for 22 rebounds as the Tekoa-Oakesdale girls basketball team handed LaCrosse-Washtucna its first loss in the Whitman County League, 56-44, Friday night at Tekoa.

The Tigercats edged the Nighthawks for last year’s league title.

Cox scored a team-high 16 points to put her at 1,106 for her career. She made 5 of 10 field goals and 6 of 10 free throws. She had 12 rebounds and Bruce 10. Christa Graffis added 11 for the Nighthawks.

T-O shot 15 of 44 from the field and 10 of 18 at the freethrow line. L-W, which shot 15 of 37 and 25 of 41 at the line, was led by Christine Cronrath with 13 points.
