Blue Mountain Fends Off Ccs

Blue Mountain jumped out to a 10-point lead at the half and then held off a Community Colleges of Spokane rally to post a 90-88 victory in Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges men’s basketball action Saturday in Pendleton, Ore.

Jon Chatfield buried 3 of his 7 3-point attempts and finished with a game-high 26 points for the Sasquatch.

Chris Allen tallied 23 points for CCS on 8-of-14 shooting from the field. Teammate James Kiger added 12 points and a game-high eight rebounds.

The Timberwolves had a decided advantage at the freethrow line.

Blue Mountain made 19 of its 27 free-throw attempts, while the Sasquatch hit 13 of their 14 attempts.

CCS shot 33 percent (9 of 27) from 3-point range for the game. Blue Mountain connected on just 3 of its 11 attempts (27 percent).
