East Valley’s J.J. Honorof considered his match against Cheney’s Seth Morris to be a defining point of his season.
Honorof has had a strong year at 215 pounds, but Morris is a Frontier League state veteran.
The Knights wrestler prevailed 10-4 as part of a 53-18 Knights romp. EV won 10 of 14 matches to solidify their chances for a fifth straight league championship.
A team the Eagles beat earlier, Clarkston, rolled past West Valley 49-18 in the night’s other match.
The Knights and Eagles wrestle on Tuesday to end the league’s brief season.

Josh Birt was leading 12-2 when Cheney’s Joe Wulczynski pinned him with 4 seconds left in their match.
WV won just four matches against Clarkston, including pins by Jamie Rigsby at 115 pounds and Ty Roberts at 158. Trevor Britton’s reversal with less than a minute left gave him a 5-4 victory at 178.
