Paula Conley To Help Write Education Program
Paula Conley, a teacher at Sorensen Elementary School in Coeur d’Alene, was selected to help write lesson plans to enhance recently developed national education technology standards for students at an International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) tech team program held in Arizona.
Conley, who was one of 25 teachers and district technology coordinators chosen from more than 100 applicants, served on a writing team for language arts content for the third- through fifthgrade range. She has a master’s degree in computer education and serves as the prototypical classroom teacher at Sorensen.
Teams wrote detailed lesson plans that integrate technology and included links to Web sites that teachers may use to support the lessons. The lesson plans will now go through a process of review and revision before publication this summer with teacher access available from written versions or via the Internet.
Dr. Heidi Rogers, from the University of Idaho and incoming ISTE president, was part of the leadership team. Funding was also provided by the U.S. Department of Education.
