Burglar Strikes While Woman In Hospital

An 80-year-old Spokane Valley woman who spent a week in the hospital returned home Monday to find her house burglarized, sheriff’s deputies reported.

It appears someone stole the woman’s purse from her room at Sacred Heart Medical Center and used her keys to enter her house sometime between Saturday and Monday, deputies said.

The thief ransacked the place, dumping out drawers and overturning the mattress and couch.

The victim told deputies her jewelry and three television sets were taken.
