Three Lind, Wash., residents were hurt Tuesday in a two-car crash near Ritzville, the Washington State Patrol reported.

Nathan Olson, 19, was driving his car east on Franz Road when he collided with a 1993 Hyundai headed south on state Highway 21, troopers said.

Olson, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered a head injury and was taken by helicopter to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane.

The force of the wreck threw his mother, 45-year-old Debbie Olson, out of the 1991 Chevrolet. She suffered head lacerations and numerous bumps and bruises, and also was taken by helicopter to Sacred Heart. Troopers weren’t sure if she was wearing a seat belt.

The driver of the Hyundai, 32-year-old Larry Hunt, was transported by ambulance to Ritzville Hospital for treatment of cuts.
