Corps Of Engineers Funds Flood Watch
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is providing special funding to help lessen the threat of flooding in Clark Fork from Lightning Creek, the agency announced Thursday.
The funding will allow the Army Corps to remove debris that could lodge underneath the Lightning Creek Bridge and cause flooding in the town of Clark Fork.
Work will focus on wood and gravel removal from gravel beds adjacent to the water. The Corps plans to level the beds and remove sediment.
The funding was approved because of the immediate threat of flooding in Clark Fork.
