Nut Factory Moves To Valley

The Nut Factory closed its downtown store Thursday, and will open in its new Valley production plant in about two weeks.

The 45-year-old company was located at 306 E. Trent Ave. for 10 years. The building it occupied will be demolished and replaced by the State of Washington Archives and Washington State University library.

The Nut Factory’s new plant at 19425 E. Broadway is on 5.5 acres near the Barker Road exit of Interstate 90. The custom-built, 23,000-square-foot building includes 4,000 square feet of retail space and a window for customers to view the production process.

The new location will also allow the company to diversify its product line and hire up to 10 new employees, said Nut Factory owner Gene Cohen.
