A woman accused of illegally selling prescription drugs out of her restaurant will stand trial on four felony charges.

Bertha Moreno pleaded not guilty to the charges in 7th District Court on Wednesday. A trial has been set for March 9.

Moreno is the owner of Morenita’s Restaurant and Bakery, which was raided by agents from the Idaho Criminal Investigation Bureau in September after getting a tip that antibiotics were being sold there.

It is illegal in the United States to sell the drugs outside of a pharmacy and without a prescription.

Agents seized between $20,000 and $30,000 worth of the drugs. Moreno said she did not know it was illegal to sell the drugs over the counter.

In Mexico, people can purchase them without a prescription, she said.
