Summary: Moscow (16-3 overall, 14-3 league) wins the Border League title outright with a win. Coeur d’Alene (13-5, 12-4) needs a win tonight and another Saturday at last-place Clarkston to earn co-championship.

The Bears, in their first year in A-1 after dominating A-2 for several seasons, handled the Vikings 53-39 on Dec. 1 at Moscow. But CdA was playing without point guard Patti Stranger (broken hand). When Stranger returned, she brought a calming influence, and the Viks have gotten much better since. The No. 1 seed in next week’s regional state-qualifying tourney also is at stake. It’ll be Moscow’s inside game of Courtney Goetz and Amber Matthews against CdA’s emerging balance, led by post Shaylia Davis.
