Minnesota scoring leader Quincy Lewis, who averages better than 23 points per game, was held below double figures for just the second time all year Thursday against Gonzaga. The first time was in UM’s last game, the Big Ten tournament loss to Illinois… . Gonzaga’s win is the first in the NCAA Tournament by a WCC team since 1996, when Santa Clara topped Maryland… . It’s the first time the Bulldogs have defeated a Big Ten team. A 71-63 win over Penn State came in 1989, before the Nittany Lions joined the league.
