Sheridan Wins Three More

2A/B track and field

Pullman’s Cole Sheridan finished a perfect 4 for 4 when the District 7 2A track and field meet ended Friday at Riverside High.

Sheridan won the boys 100- and 200-meter runs and ran the anchor leg on Pullman’s victorious 400 relay team. He won the triple jump on Tuesday, the meet’s first day of competition.

Sheridan ran 11.0 seconds in the 100 and a meet-record 22.1 in the 200. The Greyhounds won the 400 relay in a meet-record 42.7.

Newport’s J.J. Jordan swept the boys hurdles, running 15.8 in the 110 and 41.7 in the 300.

Lakeside’s Trevor Smith won the boys 3,200 in 9:51.0. Smith also won Tuesday’s 1,600 final.

Colville’s Alison McGrane came up big in the girls meet. McGrane won the 200 (25.3) and 400 (59.8), both with meet records, and helped the Indians run a meet-record 50.0 in the 400 relay.

Pullman set meets records of 1:47.2 in the 800 relay and 4:10.8 in the 1,600 relay. Courtnie Lees, Tuesday’s winner in the long jump, ran legs on both relay teams.

Colville’s Crystal Evans followed up Tuesday’s win in the 3,200 by winning the 1,600 in 5:25.3.

Chewelah’s Chrissy Oneal won the shot put at 37 feet, 2 inches. Oneal won Tuesday’s discus.

Katey Moat, also of Chewelah, added to Tuesday’s win in the high jump by taking the 100 hurdles in a meet-record 15.5.

Valley Christian’s boys and girls claimed team titles at the District 7 B championships at Whitworth College.

The Panthers boys scored 121 points for a 19-point margin of victory over Northwest Christian in the 14-team event.

VC outscored runner-up Liberty 105-95 in the 15-team girls meet.

Sprague-Harrington’s Mandi Walters won the girls 200- and 400-meter runs and the long jump to total 30 points.

Wilbur-Creston’s Alyssa Erickson and Ritzville’s Amy Fitch scored 28 points apiece. Erickson won the shot put and discus, and finished second in the javelin. Fitch won the high jump and 300 hurdles, and placed second in the 100 hurdles.

VC’s Jared Evans and Republic’s Keith McCurdy scored 26 points apiece in the boys meet. Evans won both hurdles and finished third in the 200. McCurdy won the 100 and 200, and was third in the long jump.
