Teachers Recognized For Effective Classes

From Staff

Seventy-four Idaho school teachers have received national certification for effective classroom instruction and demonstrating a high degree of accomplishment.

The teachers were recognized by the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards, an independent organization backed by school administrators and principals.

Teachers awarded certification are considered some of the best in the field. A total of 2,965 teachers across the United States were awarded the certificates this month.

Teachers are evaluated on teaching style, involvement in professional organizations and ability to communicate with parents. The national certification is different from a state teaching certificate. Those, required for most teachers, are based on the number of college credits teachers must take before they are allowed to instruct students.
