Crown Pacific Partners Buys Idaho Timberland

Crown Pacific Partners will buy 91,000 acres of North Idaho timberland from Plum Creek Timber.

The $73 million deal, slated to close by Jan. 15, is subject to the signing of a purchase agreement and board approval.

The timberlands are scattered throughout Kootenai, Benewah, Clearwater, Latah and Shoshone counties. The sale will boost Crown Pacific’s Idaho land holdings to about 300,000 acres, making it one of the largest private timberland owners in the state. “They’re an ideal fit,” Crown Pacific spokesman Bob Hess said of the holdings. The Portland-based company operates mills in Coeur d’Alene and Bonners Ferry.
