Kellogg Probes Blast Near City Garage

Police are investigating an early morning explosion near the city of Kellogg’s garage Tuesday.

Police officers responded to the shop at 401 Portland just before 3 a.m. The explosion apparently occurred in a pile of sandbags next to the building.

No one was injured, according to police reports.

The Spokane City-County explosives disposal unit was called to the scene. Agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms also responded. Later, the area was declared safe.

Only the sandbags were damaged.
