Draft Horse Show Starts Today

The 23rd Annual Idaho State Draft Horse International Show comes to town this week.

Performances begin at the Bonner County Fairgrounds tonight with halter classes. Admission to those shows are free.

Preliminary log skidding begins at 9 a.m. Friday, which is also free. The regular performances begin Friday at noon with junior cart shows, senior driving, farm team driving and draft horse barrel racing. The second set of performances begin at 6 p.m.

Demonstrations of various traditional skills are scheduled throughout the weekend by blacksmiths, horse packers, farriers, wheelwrights and wainwrights.

Performances and demonstrations will continue through Sunday. Tickets are $7 for adults and $6 for seniors and students for each performance, or $30 for an adult season pass and $25 for a student or senior season pass.
