Walk Against Hate Planned Sunday

People from around the city will converge on Temple Beth Shalom on Sunday for a Walk Against Hate.

The event, sponsored by Churches Against Racism, was organized in response to recent acts of violence around the country and ongoing racism in the Inland Northwest.

The two-mile walk will begin at the temple, 1322 E. 30th, travel down Grand Boulevard and conclude at the Episcopal Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, 127 E. 12th.

A welcome will begin at 4:30 p.m., with the walk starting at 5 p.m. A short interfaith prayer service will be held at the cathedral following the walk.

Transportation will be available from the cathedral back to the temple after the walk. All are invited to participate.

Manito Methodist plans auction

Manito United Methodist Church is having a lasagna dinner and auction on Sunday.

The evening begins with dinner at 6 p.m. Items up for bid include handmade crafts, desserts, bread and more.

Cost for dinner is a donation.

Dinner to benefit Cheney outreach

A spaghetti dinner organized by the Cheney Ecumenical Outreach Ministries Assistance Programs will be served from 5:30 to 7:30 tonight at the Cheney High School cafeteria, 406 N. Sixth. Tickets for the fund-raiser are $7 for adults and $3 for children under age 10.

Rummage sale scheduled

First Presbyterian Church, 318 S. Cedar, will host its annual fall rummage sale this weekend. Sale hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. Proceeds will help support various mission programs as well as community projects.
