Rev. Kim Alexander, pastor of Spirit Lake Baptist Church, 313 S. Third, Spirit Lake, Idaho. Background: Alexander, 40, has been a pastor since 1980, when he graduated from the Inland Empire School of the Bible (now known as Moody Northwest). His first position was as a youth pastor at Spokane’s First Baptist Church.

He then spent time in South Dakota and Winchester, Idaho, before heading back to Spokane to work five years at Foothills Community Church.

The positions in South Dakota and Idaho resulted from his affiliation with Village Missions, which sends ministers to rural churches in danger of closing due to lack of pastors.

He has been at Spirit Lake Baptist Church for five years and is currently working toward a master’s degree through Pacific Rim Bible College and Seminary.

Personal: Alexander and his wife, Debbie, have been married 20 years and have four children ranging in age from 10 to 18. His wife home schools the three younger children.
