Warrant Sought In School Bomb
Sheriff’s officers hope to obtain an arrest warrant early next week for a young man who they believe firebombed the Deer Park High School library.
Sheriff’s Sgt. Greg Barkley declined to identify the suspect, but said he is not a student. However, the adult suspect has some association with the school, Barkley said.
“We’re not real sure about the motive,” he said.
Barkley said officers were tipped off about the suspect because he has a cut on his arm - as detectives publicly predicted he would. The suspect left a lot of blood at the scene, apparently from being cut while smashing out library windows before tossing in a Molatov cocktail or some other flammable device.
The suspect is “kind of a transient type,” and officers were still looking for him Friday, Barkley said.
