Workshop For Women Offered At Berean

All women are invited to attend “An Inspirational Day for Women” Oct. 23 at Berean Bible Church.

Sponsored by Moody Bible Institute, the workshop will run from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the church, 10910 E. Boone.

Featured speakers will be Jan Silvious and Nancy Mankins.

Silvious is the author of several books and co-hosts a weekly call-in radio program on Precept Bible study with Kay Arthur.

Mankins was a missionary in Panama for seven years, where her husband was taken captive by Columbian guerrillas.

The cost is $30 per person and those attending are asked to bring their own Bible.

Ground breaking and blessing

The Episcopal Church of the Resurrection will hold a ground-breaking and blessing ceremony Sunday at the site of its new church.

The event will be held at 9:30 a.m. between worship services.

Those attending are invited to bring a shovel and participate in the ceremony. The building is expected to be finished in time for Easter 2000.

The site is located at 15319 E. Eighth.

Burchfields plan two concerts

The Burchfields are in town and will be performing concerts at two Valley churches this week.

The instrumental duo have been performing a mix of classical, jazz and old-time gospel for five years.

They have appeared at the Focus on the Family Chapel Hour and Bill and Gloria Gaither’s Homecoming concerts and videos.

The first concert begins at 6 p.m. Sunday at Pines Baptist Church, 714 S. Pines. It is free and all are invited to attend.

The duo will perform again at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Pasadena Park Church of the Nazarene, 8822 E. Upriver Drive.
