New faces:
Jessie L. Harris has joined the Spokane law firm of Paine, Hamblen, Coffin, Brooke & Miller LLP as an associate. Harris is a 1996 graduate of Washington State University, where he served as student body president during his senior year. He received his law degree from Gonzaga University School of Law this year. He served as vice president of GU’s Black Law Students Association. His practice will emphasize general civil litigation and commercial law.
LineSoft has added the following employees to its staff: Feng Gao was hired as an engineer responsible for data management and engineering project work. Gao, who earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, has 12 years of experience as a professional civil engineer designing industrial, residential and public buildings.
Cleat Grumbly joined LineSoft as an engineer responsible for distribution and transmission line design, as well as customer training. He previously worked for Dupree Building Specialties and earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Gonzaga University.
Greg Jones was hired as a software engineer responsible for designing and writing software for engineering applications. He received a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Whitworth College.
Robert L. Scott has been named associate director of Gonzaga University School of Law’s career services office. Scott, who earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Illinois, previously was president of R.L. Scott & Associates, an international consulting firm. Earlier, he was director of the department of international development for the city of Spokane.
Dr. David Haworth has joined SouthCare Animal Clinic as an associate veterinarian. Haworth received a Ph.D. in reproductive physiology in 1997 and a DVM in 1999, both from Colorado State University. He received advanced training as an oncological post-doctoral fellow in the Comparative Oncology Unit at CSU. His special interests include cancer treatment, soft tissue surgery and compassionate care of geriatric pets.

Dr. S. Trevor McCrorey has joined the staff in the practice of family medicine. McCrorey received his medical degree from the Creighton University School of Medicine in 1996 and then completed an internship and residency at Rapid City Regional Hospital in South Dakota. He is joining Drs. Stachecki and Roth at Diakonia Family Medicine, 5901 N. Lidgerwood, Suite 126.
Dr. Mark A. Hart joined Holy Family’s medical staff in the practice of family medicine. He received his medical degree from the University of Health Science School of Osteopathic Medicine in 1996, and completed an internship and residency at UPMC/Horizon Medical Center in Farrell, Penn. Hart, who is board eligible, joins Drs. Jamison, Krueger, Lahtinen, Madsen and Piper at 6002 N. Mayfair.
Moving up:
Global Credit Union has promoted Randy Teall to manager of its Coeur d’Alene Real Estate Loan Center. Teall joined Global in June 1998 as the center’s senior loan officer. He has 25 years of experience in the lending industry and has served as president of the Coeur d’Alene Chamber of Commerce and the Kootenai County Visitors & Convention Bureau.
Ken Everson has been promoted to assistant manager of real estate lending at Global Credit Union’s main office in downtown Spokane. Everson has 21 years of experience in the lending industry and joined Global in March 1998 from Old Kent Bank/Republic Mortgage.
Kudos:
Erwin C. Markhart of Hayden, Idaho, a district manager for Farmers Insurance Group, has earned the company’s highest award to district managers and agents for “outstanding overall performance.” He joins the company’s Presidents Council, which provides input to Farmers’ senior management on key issues affecting customers and the insurance industry. Markhart represents Farmers’ member companies in automobiles, homeowners, life and business insurance.
Donald Smock, owner/broker of Windermere/Coeur d’Alene Realty Inc., has been named Realtor of the Year by the Idaho Association of Realtors. Smock, who is the sixth North Idaho Realtor to receive the award in its 38-year history, also was the Coeur d’Alene Association of Realtors’ choice as Realtor of the Year. For the state honor, he was chosen from among 23 candidates. Smock began his real estate career in 1973 and earned his broker’s license in 1977.
