Men Armed With Bat Rob Area Pizza Hut

Two men, one of them wielding a metal baseball bat, robbed the Pizza Hut restaurant at Sprague and Vista of a small amount of cash at about 1a.m. Thursday, according to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Department.

Two employees were ambushed by the pair of robbers as they were leaving the business.

As the female employee opened the rear door, the man with the bat pushed his way into the building and demanded cash and the employees’ billfolds and watches, according to the Sheriff’s Department.

The man swung the bat at the male employee, but missed. The second man followed the first into the building.

The employees handed over a small amount of cash in a plastic bag and the men fled on foot.

The first robber was described as a white male, 5-foot-6 and 180 pounds, wearing a dark knee-length overcoat, gardening gloves and nylons over his face.

The second suspect was a white male, 5-foot-8 and 170 pounds, who also wore gardening gloves and nylons over his face.

The suspects forced the employees into a small room and blocked them in. They were not injured.
