Scott Sullivan Graduates From Joint Pilot Training

Air Force 2nd Lt. Scott Sullivan graduated from the joint specialized undergraduate pilot training, a 52-week, three-phased program for officers at Vance Air Force Base in Enid, Okla., and received an aeronautical rating of pilot in the military.

He is the son of Thomas and Donna Sullivan, Spokane.

Christopher Welch completed a U.S. Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps field training encampment at Tyndall Air Force Base in Panama City, Fla.

His training consisted of jet aircraft orientation, human relations education, physical fitness and survival skills.

The cadet, a student at Washington State University, is the son of Teresita Welch, Fairchild Air Force Base.

Six area residents graduated from North Idaho College last spring.

They are listed by their hometowns: Addy: David Yarnell Chewelah: Deanne Perkins Newman Lake: Paul McDavid Spokane: Betsy Rosenberg, Jared Osborn and Wendy VanDyke.

Christina Kirkland was commissioned as an Army second lieutenant through the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps program after graduating with a degree from the University of Idaho.

Kirkland, a 1989 graduate of Curlew (Wash.) High School, is the daughter of Carol Harris, Medical Lake, and Donald Harris, Winchester, Idaho.

John Moffitt has been promoted to the rank of captain in the U.S. Army.

He is stationed at Fort Benning, Ga., as a student in the Infantry Captains Career Course.

Moffitt is the son of Charles Moffit and Cathy Kornmeyer, both of Spokane.

Kira Marciniak graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Mass., with a degree in chemical engineering.

She is the daughter of Sue and John Marciniak, Spokane.
