Spokane Quilters Show Hundreds Of Quilts At Annual Show

If you love a nice quilt, check out the more than 500 quilts on display at the Spokane Convention Center this weekend.

“Timeless Treasures” is the 21st annual quilt show and merchant mall sponsored by the Spokane chapter of the Washington State Quilters.

This year’s featured quilter is Pam Clarke. A past-president of the Washington State Quilters, Clarke has also made more than 5,000 quilts since she began a machine quilting business a decade ago.

A Spokane resident, she teaches machine quilting and other techniques at two local stores, The Quilting Bee and Pacific Crescent Quilting.

During the show, the public will have the opportunity to vote on its favorite quilts in several categories, such as appliqued hand quilted, pieced hand quilted, appliqued machine quilted, pieced machine quilted and novelty quilts. Special awards will also be presented to youth participating in the show.

Show hours are noon to 9 p.m. today, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $4 for adults and $3 for seniors and youth. Children age 11 and younger are free.

The Spokane Chapter of the Washington State Quilters boasts 750 members.
