Two Men Arrested After Cda Car Chase

Two people were arrested following a car chase Tuesday night in which one of them allegedly pointed a gun at the car they were chasing.

Police reports say a white pickup truck with three people inside began following a Jeep. People riding in the Jeep told police they ran to a nearby residence after the truck tried to ram the Jeep and a passenger pointed a gun at them.

Kootenai County Sheriff’s deputies caught three people in a truck matching the description. The driver told them he’d been following the Jeep because he thought it was his Jeep, which had been stolen, according to police reports. He had not reported it as stolen, he stated.

The three each denied possessing a gun, but Deputy Joe Bodman found a BB pistol in the bed of the truck, he wrote in his report.

Deputies arrested 29-year-old David Wayne McLennan of Seattle for aggravated assault and 27-year-old Jason Abraham Hill, who told deputies he was from Portland, for obstructing an officer and also on two existing warrants for his arrest.

The third man, the one who said his Jeep had been stolen, was released at the scene and advised to call the Coeur d’Alene Police Department to report his car stolen.
