East Side District Names New Fire Chief

The East Side Fire District has appointed a new fire chief.

Jim Walton, a volunteer firefighter, replaces former chief Jim Trittine, who was terminated earlier this year.

Walton worked as a captain, deputy chief and interim chief before being appointed earlier this month.

The East Side Fire District covers the east side of Lake Coeur d’Alene from Beauty Bay to Thompson Lake. It has 24 volunteer firefighters.
