Motorcyclist Injured While Fleeing Police
A 25-year-old Elk resident was seriously injured Saturday night when he was driving his motorcycle and attempted to elude a police officer, according to the Spokane Police Department.
The man lost control of his motorcycle and skidded on Valley Springs Road just east of Custer about 11 p.m., police said. The bike hit a rock, and the driver was thrown about 30 feet, police said. He was not wearing a helmet.
Police said the man had been traveling at speeds up to 70 mph in 25 mph and 30 mph residential areas.
Police said they found an empty holster on the driver and a .380 pistol on the ground nearby. The driver also had a knife with him, police said. The driver’s name has not been released. His condition is listed as serious.
