Man Held On Suspicion Of Running Meth Lab
A Stevens County man remained in the county jail Tuesday on suspicion that he ran a drug lab being raided by sheriff’s deputies when he drove up to the house.
Glen I. Morris, 34, was arrested without incident Monday when he pulled into the driveway of his rural home southwest of Colville.
Sheriff Craig Thayer said specialists from the Washington State Patrol and the state Department of Ecology were still searching and cleaning up the suspected methamphetamine factory Tuesday. Officers found marijuana as well as meth in Morris’ home at 1448 South Basin Road.
Morris was arrested on suspicion of manufacturing and possessing a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and illegal possession of a sawed-off shotgun. He has not been formally charged, but is scheduled for arraignment Friday in Superior Court. District Court Judge Pamela Payne set Morris’ bail at $15,000.
Thayer said the investigation is continuing, and there may be another arrest.
