Wallace, Kendrick Win Hospital Seats
Incumbent Marc Wallace and businesswoman Cathy Kendrick were elected to six-year terms on the Kootenai Hospital District Board of Trustees Tuesday.
In unofficial results, Wallace received 421 votes and Kendrick garnered 321 votes.
Wallace has served on the board, which governs Kootenai Medical Center, since 1988 and is secretary/treasurer. He is an attorney in Coeur d’Alene.
Kendrick has served on the boards of the Kootenai Medical Center Foundation, North Idaho Imaging, Idaho Land Title Association and the Coeur d’Alene Area Chamber of Commerce. She owns a real estate construction and development business with her husband.
Eight candidates ran for seats on the seven-member board.
Dr. Bret Dirks received 212 votes, John Fox got 164 votes, Charles Dowdy received 115 votes, Bruce Jensen received 86 votes, John Goldthorpe got 43 votes and Joseph O’Donnell got 36 votes.
A total of 1,398 votes were cast, compared with 2,377 votes in the 1998 election.
