Store On U.S. 2 Hit By Armed Robber

The Dairy Depot, a gas station and convenience store on U.S. Highway 2 in Sandpoint, was held up by an armed robber early Friday.

A man wearing a hooded, black sweat shirt, black pants and a mask entered the store at 2:48 a.m., brandished a gun and demanded money from the till, police said.

A surveillance camera captured the robbery on tape, but it’s unclear what type of gun the robber had, Police Chief Bill Kice said.

The man took an undisclosed amount of money and left in a grayish, 1980s Oldsmobile. A male employee was working alone at the time of the robbery.

Police are investigating but had no suspects as of late Friday.
