Creation 2000 at the Gorge

The annual Creation Festival of Christian music is scheduled for July 27-29 at The Gorge Amphitheater in George, Wash. In addition to concerts by Christian performers, Creation 2000 will also include worship services, a prayer tent, exhibits, Christian products available for purchase, seminars, a children’s ministry tent, inspirational speakers and a special baptism service.

Over two dozen performers will take the stage, including Avalon, Michael W. Smith, Audio Adrenaline, Jennifer Knapp, Fono, Raze, The Insyderz, Newsboys, FFH, Sonic Flood, Supertones and Rebecca St. James.

Tickets for the entire event are $71 for adults and $31 for children age 6-11 if purchased before Friday. Tickets at the gate are $80 and $40. Tickets may also be purchased for one day only or one evening only. Group rates are available.

Prayer day for single parents

The Immaculate Heart Retreat Center is hosting an afternoon prayer day on June 25 for families headed by single parents. The short retreat will run from 2 to 6:30 p.m. and is titled “When My Dreams Die, What Do I Do, God?” The featured speaker is Ann Marie Floch, a former family counselor.

The schedule includes meditations, discussion, Mass and dinner. A special youth program will be offered for children age 6 and up, and child care will be available for children age 5 and under. A free-will offering will be accepted to cover the cost of the event.

The program is the first in a series, and additional programs will be offered on July 16, and Aug. 13 and 27. To make reservations or for more information, call the retreat center at 448-1224. The center is located at 6910 S. Ben Burr Road.

March for Jesus today

The annual March for Jesus is scheduled to begin today at 11 a.m. Participants will line up outside the Spokane Arena beginning at 10 a.m. The march will pass through downtown and conclude in the Riverfront Park Lilac Bowl.

Baha’i unity celebration The Baha’i community of Spokane and Coeur d’Alene will host a special unity celebration Sunday from 4 to 5 p.m. at the Harding Family Center gym, located at 411 N. 15th in Coeur d’Alene. The event will feature Baha’i prayers and meditations. People of all denominations are invited to attend
