CdA Library to lead series on Lewis and Clark

THE COEUR D’ALENE PUBLIC LIBRARY is one of five Idaho libraries chosen to host a new theme in the Let’s Talk About It reading and discussion series this fall.

The new series, featuring books about the Lewis and Clark expedition, is sponsored by the Idaho State Library and the Idaho Council on the Humanities, with local matching funds from the Friends of the Coeur d’Alene Public Library.

The free series will begin in Coeur d’Alene on Sept. 13 and meet every two weeks through Nov. 8.

Auditions

The Northwest Sacred Music Chorale will hold auditions for the 2004-05 concert season for all vocal parts at Trinity Lutheran Church, 812 N. Fifth St., Coeur d’Alene.

Auditions will be Aug. 10 and 16 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Auditioners should bring one accompanied song to sing. No appointment necessary.

Classes and workshops

A workshop on appliquéd story quilts will be taught by Baylor University art professor Mary Ruth Smith on Aug. 10-12 at the Orofino (Idaho) High School.

Hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Aug. 10-11 and 9 a.m. to noon on Aug. 12. Cost is $35 (additional $60 for teachers to receive one college in-service credit). To preregister and receive a materials list, call (208) 476-3620 or send e-mail to smccollister@orofino-id.com.
