Indians schedule DH to make up for rainout

The Spokesman-Review

The East Division pennant race was temporarily interrupted Friday night when heavy rain postponed the Spokane Indians’ Northwest League baseball game against Tri-City at Avista Stadium.

The game will be made up 6:35 tonight as part of a doubleheader. The Indians and Dust Devils will play a pair of seven-inning games to complete a series that began Thursday with T-C’s 5-4 win.

Those with tickets for Friday’s rained-out game can redeem them for another contest, except for tonight’s sold-out doubleheader.

Friday was also supposed to have been a $1 Family Feast Night at Avista. That promotion was rescheduled for Sept. 3. The Indians also have a Family Feast Night set for Aug. 20.

Tonight’s scheduled fireworks show will go on, but it will be presented between games rather than afterward.

The first-place Dust Devils (27-19) lead Spokane (24-22) by three games with 30 remaining in the season. T-C is 3-1 against the Indians this season, having won each game by one run.
