Bengals take non-league victory over winless Trojans

Lisa Cannon was 6 for 14 from the field and 4 for 4 from the line to lead Lewiston to a 63-45 victory over visiting Post Falls in a non-league game between league opponents.

Wesli Kalbfleish added 12 points, including two 3-pointers, for the Bengals (3-1).

Jenny McVeigh led Post Falls (0-3) in scoring with 12 points.

In other girl’s basketball games, Jenna Griffiths scored 13 points and Coeur d’Alene (5-0) tallied 22 steals as the Vikings defeated Moscow (1-2) 49-32. Jenna DeLong added 11 points for CdA and Kelsey Taylor led Moscow’s offense with 13 points. … Kellogg 72, Kootenai 30: Jordan Budd led Kellogg (6-1) with 16 points, six rebounds, four assists and four steals as the visiting Wildcats crushed the Warriors (1-4). Cami Wendt added 16 points and had five steals for Kellogg. … Wallace 65, Timberlake 48: Lynsie Powers scored a game-high 23 points but the Tigers (2-1) lost to the visiting the Miners (2-2).

Boy’s basketball

Scott Stockwell scored 18 points and added 10 assists and nine steals as Post Falls rolled over visiting Bonners Ferry 82-33 in a non-league game. K.C. Billetz had a double-double for the Trojans (1-0) with 16 points and 10 rebounds. The Badgers fell to 0-3.

In other games, Tim Wolfe and Mike Sifford scored 19 points apiece as Lakeside (2-0) held on to defeat visiting Deary 64-55. The Knights collectively totaled 34 rebounds and 12 steals in the 9-point victory…Post Falls Christian 64, Christian Heritage 48: David Park scored 22 points in the Eagles (3-0) victory over visiting Christian Heritage.
