Ex-EWU golfer advances to finals of WSWGA
SEATTLE — Co-medalist Shawn Farmer defeated defending champion Leslie Folsom with an eagle putt on the 13th hole Thursday to advance to today’s championship match in the Washington State Women’s Golf Association Championships at Broadmoor Golf Club.
Farmer, a former Eastern Washington University golfer, will play PNGA Hall of Famer Ann Sander of Broadmoor. Sander was four up with four holes to play in her semifinal match against co-medalist Alana Condon and hung on to win on the 17th hole, 2 and 1.
Sander is a two-time WSWGA Champion, three-time USGA Women’s Amateur Champion, and four-time USGA Senior Women’s Amateur Champion.
