Villwock drives Bud to win at Columbia Cup

Dave Villwock drove Miss Budweiser to victory Saturday in heat 1A of the Budweiser Columbia Cup Unlimited hydroplane race, defeating J.W. Myers in LLumar Window Film by about six lengths.

In heat 1B, Mitch Evans drove Vacationville.com to a win over Steve David driving Oh Boy! Oberto, winning by about two boat lengths.

Races continue today in the Tri-Cities, with the final heat scheduled for 4:10 p.m.

Nine boats are in the field, with Miss Budweiser having the top qualifying speed of 163.162 mph and Vacationville.com the second top speed of 161.146 mph.

The rest of the field is: LLumar, 158.646 mph; O’Boy! Oberto, 147.468; Miss APBA, 145.973; Spirit of Tricities, 145.725; Round Table Pizza, 141.443; Miss Warner Auto Sales, 139.254, and Silver Dollar Casinos, 138.164.

RiverHawks fall, 11-5

The host Kelowna (B.C.) Falcons posted an 11-5 win over the Spokane RiverHawks in Pacific International League play.

Matt Robinson had a two-run single for the losers.
