‘Games on Horseback’ in Cheney

Riders of all ages are invited to participate in this weekend’s Cowgirl Up Summer Blowout “Games on Horseback.” The start time for the event, held at Shrinerss Arena in Cheney, is at 9 a.m. both Saturday and Sunday.

Riders will compete for high-point prizes in each age division. Those participating must have their own horse. The cost is $1.75 per ride plus a $2 per day arena fee.

Spectators are admitted free, and there will also be an auction during the weekend.

The event is sanctioned by the Washington State Horsemen Games Division and the Northeast Zone Games Division. The weekend is also a fund-raiser for the state finals.

Jessica Bland, the 2004 Interstate Princess, will also make an appearance.

The arena is on 44th Lane off Highway 195.
