Police seek information on potential suspects in archery store theft
An archery shop had more than $11,000 of merchandise stolen Friday.A burglar alarm went off at Spokane Valley Archery, 3809 S. Linke Road, about 2:30 a.m. Friday. At the time, all appeared secured at the archery store. Later that afternoon, Josh Jones, who manages the store for his father Mark Jones, realized items were missing.
A Spokane County Sheriff’s Office deputy found pry marks on the back door of the business, sheriff’s spokesman Cpl. Dave Reagan said in a press release.
The stolen bow packages and other archery products added up to $11,800, Josh Jones said.
Jones said he’ll start checking with pawn shops but doubted they would be able to recover the stolen goods. It appeared the thieves stole what they needed to hunt with, Jones said.
They seemed to know exactly what they wanted and did not ransack the business, Jones said.
Several teenagers had been into the store the previous day and asked questions about several of the stolen items, Reagan said. The teenagers had not asked the price of different items, Reagan said.
The Sheriff’s Office wants to find out more information about five teenagers who are potential suspects in the theft.
One teen was described as a 16-year-old white female with long blond hair, approximately 5 feet 6 inches and 130 pounds. A second was described as a 16 or 17-year-old white male with short brown hair, 6 feet 4 inches tall and 235 pounds. The three others were white males, approximately 15 years old and 5 feet 6 or 5 feet 7 inches tall with thin builds, Reagan said.
Anyone with information about the burglary or stolen items is asked to call Crime Check at 456-2233.
