Whooping cough cases now at seven

From staff reports

With two new cases of whooping cough confirmed in Spokane County, public health officials urged parents to make sure their children’s immunizations are up to date.

The new cases are two siblings who attend the West Central Community Center Head Start child-care center in West Spokane.

That brings this year’s whooping cough count to seven cases. Last week, the health district reported there were six cases in the county, but now that count has been revised to five previous cases.

The Spokane Regional Health District is alerting some staff members and some families of other children at the center to see a doctor for antibiotics.
