Parade of Homes offers 15 masterpieces

If you have always wanted to have that dream home, this may be the year to find it. Full of imagination and features, North Idaho builders created 15 masterpieces, open for your viewing in the North Idaho Building Contractors Association (NIBCA) Parade of Homes, running through next Sunday.
NIBCA Executive Officer Chris Rodgers says 13 builders are participating in the event this year. “This is a chance to view homes with the latest improvements,” says Rodgers. She adds, “The most up to date, highest quality products for new homes, remodeling projects, and some of the latest trends in landscaping can be seen.”
Building sites range from Rockford Bay to the South, Blanchard to the North, Hayden to the East and Post Falls to the West, with prices ranging from $245,000 to over $1 million.
All homes should be visited, if time permits. Projects featured here were selected to give a representation of the impressive quality in all of the projects. Maps for the Parade of Homes tour can be obtained at any of the homes.
Starting about 15 miles south of Coeur d’Alene, Mountain Lakes Construction is creating an 11,000 square-foot mansion on 50 acres (project is still under way and only one floor is expected to be available for viewing). From Highway 95, turn east on Rockford Bay road then north on Hamaker, and the three-story white Georgian-style home with wraparound porch can be seen on the Heritage Road hill.
Thirty-seven rooms, two turrets, two “dream” kitchens, six fireplaces, 10-foot ceilings, mahogany doors, library, parlor, dramatic circular staircase, dumbwaiter, Brazilian-cherry hardwood floors, granite and stone accents, central vacuum system, Bose Home Theater with three in-ceiling motorized projectors, performance stage with a private dressing room, “Smart Home” motorized lighting and security, concrete vault, motorized Spanish crystal chandelier, digital phone system, built-in outdoor barbecue center, state of the art landscaping, surveillance camera network, digital communication center, overhead fans on the porches, four-car garage and a motorized entry gate are some of the features.
Hayden has plenty to offer this year, including designer/builder Charlie Rens’ 3,400 square-foot house on Shamrock Drive in Rimrock Forest Estates, off Lancaster Road. The four-bedroom, three-bath house includes an office with built shelves and desk, hickory cabinets, “Tumblestone” tile, beech wood floors, granite counters, built-in entertainment center with fireplace, central vacuum, computerized lighting and sound system and ceilings as high as 11 ½ feet.
Rens and his wife will live in the showplace, which he values at $450,000.
Just down the street, Joel Anderson of Monarch Homes went the rustic route, with exposed Blue Fir beams and Spanish-style wood and iron accents throughout. Also valued at $450,000, the home features slate tile, textured wood floors, gourmet kitchen with stainless appliances, two fireplaces and a dining area overlooking the woods.
In Post Falls, Bill Johnson of Johnson Custom Homes, built “Piper’s Place,” a three-bedroom, two-bath, 1,807 square-foot home in Prairie Meadows subdivision of McGuire Road. Priced at $245,000, Johnson included laminate flooring, travertine stone and granite in the master bath and a fireplace/entertainment center made of rosewood and hickory wood accents.
Also in Post Falls, Cassian Construction completed a 3,000 square foot home on Coles Loop at the Highlands Country Club, overlooking the golf course and a pond. Named the “Genovieve”, the two-level home has “elegance, varied ceiling heights up to 14 feet, granite and stone accents, Wolf range, alder cabinets, home office, great room, extraordinary master suite, exercise room, plenty of storage and quality found in larger homes,” says Eric Childress of Cassian.
The 650-acre Stoneridge Golf and Recreational Community in Blanchard, about 30 miles north of Coeur d’Alene on Highway 41, is the site of Bent Nail Construction’s “Gables” – a 2,900 square-foot “one of a kind” two-story home. With a final price expected between $245,000 and $335,000, the five-bedroom, four-bath, vaulted-ceiling house comes with a five-year golf membership.
