Leslie leads Los Angeles past Seattle

Lisa Leslie had 16 points, 10 rebounds and four blocked shots, and Mwadi Mabika added 19 points to lead the Los Angeles Sparks to a 73-70 victory over the visiting Seattle Storm on Tuesday night.

Lauren Jackson scored 17 points and grabbed eight rebounds for the Storm, who lost for the second consecutive game. Sheri Sam added 15 points and nine rebounds.

DeLisha Milton-Jones contributed 16 points for Los Angeles.

Mercury 73, Comets 63: At Phoenix, Penny Taylor, Anna DeForge and reserve Shereka Wright scored 16 points apiece and the Mercury set a franchise record with 11 3-pointers to beat Houston.

Diana Taurasi had 13 points, six assists and five rebounds for Phoenix.

Fever 79, Silver Stars 60: At San Antonio, Tamika Catchings scored 20 points and Natalie Williams added 17 to lead Indiana past San Antonio.

Kelly Miller scored 14 for the Fever.

Liberty 63, Sting 53: At Charlotte, N.C., Tari Phillips scored 10 of her 12 points in the final 7 minutes and New York held on to beat Charlottet.

Vickie Johnson added 15 points for the Liberty, who won their fourth straight game.
