May home sales total 689 in Spokane County
Spokane County home sales remained strong during the month of May. A total of 689 homes were sold at an average price of $140,789. New home sales totaled 75 at an average price of $197,697.
Year-to-date sales this year through the month of May totaled 2,525 with an average price of $137,230 for a total dollar volume of $346.5 million. New home sales through May numbered 364. This compares with the same period a year ago when 2,363 homes were sold for an average price of $128,653, for a total volume of $304.0 million. Through May of 2003, year-to-date new home construction sales totaled 308.
In the Valley: a total of 188 homes were sold at an average price of $150,299 for a total dollar volume of $28.2 million. Twenty-six of the homes were new construction.
In the South: 158 homes — including 15 newly constructed homes — were sold for an average price of $167,279. Total dollar volume was $26.4 million.
In the Northwest: 196 homes were sold at an average price of $138,952. Nineteen of the homes were new construction. Dollar volume was $27.2 million.
In the Northeast: 115 homes — five of them new construction — were purchased at an average price of $96,852, Dollar volume was $11.1 million.
In other parts of Spokane County: 32 homes — 10 of them new construction — were sold at an average price of $123,274. Dollar volume was $3.9 million
